Nuggets of Knowledge July 16th
July 20th, 2006
This weeks nuggets come on the heels of NECC in San Diego. After listening to recent podcast/skypecast from Wes Fryer’s Moving at the Speed of Creativity. I began to realize that the we are heading down the right path when it comes to creating a district blog. More specifically, what I am hearing is that there are plenty of wonderful edu-friendly blog sites out there on the web. However, after listening to the conversation one individual commented that the best senerio was to have your own district blog with total control over content and accessability. Fortunatly, with the cooperation of our IT department we have just that in our WordPress site.
One of the many topics in the skypecast was how to connect your foreign language class to other spanish speaking students. One suggestion was to use epals.com to find other classes. Still yet another service is think.com (from the Orical people)
Blog uses: finishing stories, book reviews, movie reviews.
Commenting on blogs -
*How strict will the postings be to proper writing tequnique. Will you allow “IM” language?
*Students should be practicing the proper way to praise and critisize others work.
