Yahoo Pipes |||||

August 9th, 2008 · No Comments

I always enjoy a day when I can say I truly learned something new. Today was on of those days! Where do I start?

While catching up on my Twitter account I came across this post, “Using Yahoo Pipes to re-tweet your favourites“. The post led me to Twitterfeed so I set up a feed with Twitterfeed and then focused on the Yahoo Pipes part of the post. We’ll see where the Twitterfeed thing goes later.

The Yahoo Pipes site seems to have unlimited potential to me. In fact I made a Yahoo Pipe today (after following the video) to generate images from Fort Mose here in St. Augustine, Florida.

If things work out as I hope you should be able to click here and view an RSS feed that pulls from Flickr all images tagged with (Fort Mose). Maybe I can add sources to the pipe and generate more content. I set the pipe to return up to 200 photos but it appears that only 75 fit the criteria at this time. I’m curious  to see if it will grow as more images are posted. It should!

So where does this lead? My mind is racing right now with possibilities. Can I create a feed that will pull content from specific sources that relate to instructional content? Why not? What are the sources?

Tell me what you think.
